COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
All people who agree to our guidelines will find that inSPOT.org is a friendly, respectful and legal environment where sexuality is honored. On the other hand, appropriate action will be taken against people who violate this community agreement.
SENDING ECARDS
inSPOT.org is a service where people can send ecards to their partners and hookups regarding possible exposure to an STD. If you use this site, you agree that your postcards are only being sent to people with whom you've had sexual contact and who may be at risk of contracting an STD. You agree that you will only use the site for the purpose stated above and that you are only acting for and by yourself and your sexual partner(s) or hookups. It should be noted, however, that members are ultimately responsible for their own ecards. We ask that you use discretion and never send information to people concerning possible STD exposure by people other than yourself, or give out personal information (email addresses, phone, etc.) of people other than yourself. That said, inSPOT.org and its creator, I.S.I.S., Inc., shall not be held liable for any damages resulting from said eCards.
RECEIVING AN ECARD
If you receive an ecard anonymously or from someone you know, it doesn't mean you have an STD. It simply means you may have been exposed to an STD, so go to your doctor or a neighborhood clinic and get checked out. If you don't have a regular doctor, are uncomfortable talking to your regular doctor or don't have insurance, our neighborhood clinic map can help you find a place nearby where you can get tested, and if needed treatment, for little to no cost. And if you do test positive for an STD, please come back to inSPOT.org and send ecards to your partners and/or hookups. The best way to keep yourself and our community healthy is to communicate with each other and get regular STD checkups. Many STDs are curable, although do know that if you are treated once, you can still get the STD from an infected person a second, third or fourth time. If you're sexually active with more than one partner, many doctors recommend STD checkups every three months. inSPOT.org is not a substitute for a doctor's visit or professional medical advice.
SELF-PROMOTION AND COMMERCIAL SERVICES
inSPOT.org is a site for people who have been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease(s) to notify their partners or hookups regarding their possible exposure. It is also a site where people who have received an inSPOT.org postcard can get information about testing and treatment.

We ask that you do not use inSPOT.org postcards as a means to send commercial advertisements or web pages redirected to pay sites. If we are notified that certain people sent postcards offering products or services for sale, these people and/or entities are subject to suspension of site privileges.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
We caution all people who use the site to act responsibly when sending inSPOT.org ecards. While we expect that people who receive ecards will act accordingly and get themselves tested, we cannot be held responsible for actions taken as a result of sending or receiving one of our cards.
You have the option to send cards anonymously via Internet mail. In this case, the card will show up as being sent from inSPOT user or getchecked@inspot.org. Since you have not entered any personal information into the system, there is nothing to share, forward, or sell to any another entity or third party. There is also no information available for any use by inSPOT administration.
If you send ecards from your personal email address, we do not collect the addresses anywhere, and so can not share, forward or sell the information. There is no backend database on our service.
There is one exception to our policy on divulging personal information. We will release email addresses if asked to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statue or court order.
inSPOT.org may use information about your server, IP address and browser-related information in the general administration of our website. We will not sell, trade or give away this information to anyone. We may use aggregate information (i.e. number of ecards sent per month; average number of recipients of an ecard, etc.) for administration and improvements to our site, as well as in articles and presentations in professional journals, conferences and workshops.
POST NO HATE
Any expressions of hatred, bigotry, abuse or harassment will not be tolerated by inSPOT.org. If you are having problems with another person regarding these issues, please send us an email from the Contact Us page. The people responsible for sending hateful or harassing words are subject to immediate and permanent suspension from the site. We also ask that all inSPOT.org users refrain from profanity and defamatory comments on their cards. If you have questions about what is or isn't appropriate to write in an InSpot card, please send an email to feedback@inspot.org.
PLEASE REPORT ANY PROBLEMS
If you are having problems with a person who may have maliciously sent ecards from the site, please contact us at feedback@inspot.org. If you feel another person is violating these community and membership guidelines, please contact us as well, or if you have questions about or problems with sending/receiving ecards yourself.
